How to Reach Ashram?

Travel by Flight

Bengaluru is well connected by flights from all over India and abroad. The airport name is Kempegowda International Airport (KIA).

Reaching Ashram from Airport

BUS:

  • After you come out of the airport terminal, walk towards BMTC Vayu-Vajra Bus Bays.
  • Get into Bus number KIA-5D which comes directly to the Art of Living campus. It is a fully A/C bus and has space to keep your luggage.
  • If KIA-5D is not available at that time, you can take KIA-5 bus and get down at the last stop in Banashankari.
  • From Banshankari you can take green line metro to Silk Institute station which is 3.5 KM from ashram - from Silk Institute station, you can take bus/auto/cab to reach the Campus. 
  • Or, at Banashankari Bus Terminal, you can board the bus that is going to ‘Kanakapura Road’, and get down at Ashram Bus Stop (also known as Art of Living Ashram stop / Sri Sri Ravi Shankar Ashram stop).

METRO:

  • The nearest metro station to Bangalore Airport is the Sandal Soap Factory (Green Line). 
  • Take BMTC Vayu Vajra bus KIA-10 from the airport. It will drop you near Sandal Soap Factory metro station. 
  • From Sandal Soap Factory metro station, take a ticket to Silk Institute Metro Station. This journey will take approximately 40 minutes.
  • Get down at Silk Institute Metro Station. Come out of the station.
  • Now Ashram is only 3.5 KMs away. Bus/auto/cab can be used to reach the Campus.

TRAIN:

  • This is the cheapest form of transport. In 2021, a railway station has been inaugurated near to Bangalore airport. It is called Kempegowda International Airport Devanahalli (KIAD) railway station. It is 3.5 kilometers from airport. From airport, free shuttle service is available to the station.
  • Trains depart to various parts of city like Kempegowda Station, Yeshvanthpur, Yelahanka and Bengaluru Cantonment.
  • Take ticket and get down at Kempegowda Railway Station.
  • After you get down at Kempegowda Railway Station, You can reach Ashram by Metro or by Bus.

Traveling by Bus

  • After you come out of the railway station, walk straight to the Kempegowda Bus Station (also known as Majestic Bus Stand) on the opposite side.
  • Go to platform # 11 and take the bus that goes to ‘Banashankari Temple’.
  • After you get down at Banashankari Bus Terminal, board the bus # 211 or board the bus that is going to ‘Kanakapura Road’.
  • Get down at Ashram Bus Stop (also known as Art of Living Ashram stop / Sri Sri Ravi Shankar Ashram stop).

Travelling by Metro

  • After you come out of the railway station, go to Kempegowda Metro Station on the opposite site.
  • Travel by the Green line. Take ticket for ‘Silk Institute’ Metro Station. As of now, this is the last station on Green Line. This journey will take 33 minutes.
  • From Silk Institute metro station,  Ashram is 3.5 KMs away. Bus/auto/cab can be used to reach the ashram.

Travel by Train

There are 3 main stations in Bengaluru, namely

  • KSR (also known as Majestic or Bengaluru City Junction),
  • Krishnarajapuram (KR Puram) and
  • Yeshvanthpur Junction

Reaching Ashram from railway station

KSR:

Travelling by Bus

  • After you come out of the railway station, walk straight to the Kempegowda Bus Station (also known as Majestic Bus Stand) on the opposite side.
  • Go to platform # 11 and take the bus that goes to ‘Banashankari Temple’.
  • After you get down at Banashankari Bus Terminal, board the bus # 211 or board the bus that is going to ‘Kanakapura Road’.
  • Get down at Ashram Bus Stop (also known as Art of Living Ashram stop / Sri Sri Ravi Shankar Ashram stop).

Travelling by Metro

  • After you come out of the railway station, go to Kempegowda/Majestic Metro Station on the opposite site. Or you can go to KSR Metro station which is connected by a walkway to KSR railway station. You can take Purple line metro from here and get down at next station (Majestic), to change to Green line metro.
  • Travel by the Green line. Take ticket for ‘Silk Institute’ Metro Station. As of now, this is the last station on Green Line. This journey will take 33 minutes.
  • From Silk Institute metro station,  Ashram is 3.5 KMs away. Bus/auto/cab can be used to reach the ashram.

KR Puram:

Travelling by Metro

  • Come out of KR Puram Railway Station.
  • Go to KR Puram Metro station which is right next to the railway station- Take ticket for Silk Institute Metro Station. You need to take the Purple line train till Kempegowda/Majestic Metro Station. Change to Green Line train there and get down at Silk Institute Metro Station.
  • This is the last station on Green Line. Total journey will take about 65 minutes.
  • Now Ashram is only 3.5 kilometers away. You can use Bus/auto/cab to reach the Ashram.

Yeshvanthpur:

Travelling by Metro

  • Come out of Yeshvanthpur Railway Station.
  • Yeshvanthpur Metro station is right opposite the railway station.
  • Take ticket for Silk Institute Metro station. This is the last Metro station on Green line. Journey will take 41 minutes.
  • Get down at Silk Institute Metro Station. Come out of station.
  • Now Ashram is only 3.5 kilometers away. You can use Bus/auto/cab to reach the Ashram.
