In an era, where economy often prioritized over ecology, we are already experiencing the signs of our distressed Planet “Mother Earth”: devastating wildfires, flash floods, extreme droughts, and unprecedented cold/Heat waves. These are not isolated incidents but urgent calls from nature itself. It's time we, as global citizens, collectively work to replenish and heal the environmental damages we have inflicted.

The Earth is crying for help, Our forests are crying for help!!

Yet, helping the Earth and its forests is not merely an act of charity towards them; it is an act of profound self-preservation for humanity and all living beings.

Our insensitive use of plastics, over-reliance on markets for agriculture, and detachment from our food sources all contribute to this escalating crisis.

What is the solution to these compounding problems?

We believe that truly global solutions emerge from a place of deep wisdom and practical application.

For over a decade, The Art of Living Permaculture, inspired by Sri Sri Ravi Shankar ji, has been providing profound and practical solutions. Our journey began on a 6 acre of single farm on a multi dimensional rock and has since spread its wings across India, transforming thousands of acres.

More than 1,500 families have directly benefited from our training programs, and millions have been inspired by our awareness campaigns, live sessions, and videos.

We offer more than inspiration; we provide tangible, practical solutions rooted in the belief that true salvation for humanity and Earth lies in the harmonious union of ecology and agriculture.

In this pursuit, we’ve recognized three critical elements that must reach their peak: the quality and fertility of the Earth, the purity of water, and the freshness of air. This led us to coin our unique terminology: the "AWE factor" – Air, Water, and Earth. The AWE factor must be awesome!

When you join us – whether through our live sessions, training programs, or by visiting our farms across the country – you will witness these principles in action. Our focus is not merely on crops or specific plants, which remain your personal choice, but on the foundational elements: enriching the soil, harvesting water, and nurturing a thriving ecology. This is the very crux of our mission.

We stand for these vital principles. Keep watching for more updates, and join us in this essential movement to heal our planet

What is Permaculture

The term, coined by Bill Mollison and David Holmgren in the 1970s, is a blend of "permanent agriculture" and has evolved to also encompass "permanent culture," highlighting its broader application to sustainable living.

At its heart, permaculture is about working with nature, rather than against it. It involves thoughtful observation of natural systems to design self-sustaining environments that are productive, resilient, and minimize waste. It extends beyond just gardening or farming to include sustainable architecture, land management, community planning, and even personal lifestyle choices.

Permaculture is guided by three central ethics:

Earth Care, People Care, Fair Share

The Art of Living is actively involved in promoting sustainable agricultural practices of Permaculture as part of their broader environmental sustainability initiatives. We have trainings & workshops at beginner & advanced level that delve deep into the principles & practices of permaculture: such as working with nature, minimizing external inputs, and building healthy ecosystems. They emphasize chemical-free farming, soil health, water conservation, and biodiversity.

Permaculture Farm(Experiential learning Centre): Our permaculture farm at Art of Living International Center, Bengaluru serves as a living example of how degraded land can be transformed into a thriving, food-producing ecosystem. This farm is to educate people about the advantages of permaculture design.
